Looking at this ad, the first thing I see is a young kid with a huge smile. My first instinct is he loves his food. Moms want their kids to love their food so with this kid smiling while eating attracts moms. The intended audience is for moms who may have picky eaters, and all moms want their kids to eat their meals and enjoy it. Moms want easy. They do not want to fight with their kids. Looking at this ad we can see it is a meal in one can. It is easy. Just open, heat up and serve. Today, moms are busy and want to be able to prepare a nutritious dinner that is quick. Another audience could be kids. When kids see this ad, they will see this kid is happy and enjoying the meal. This will make kids want to try it which will make the moms happy. What Chef Boy-ar-dee wants to do is to give something to the picky eaters that they will like!

The alignment for this ad catches my eye. The word smile is placed strategically beside the kid’s mouth where he is smiling. The plate is up front and large enough to where this is probably the first thing someone will see. After looking at the plate, my eyes travel up to the spoon and then up to the smiling face. Some may look at the ad and see the smiling face and then their eyes will travel down the ad to see what the kid is smiling about. This ad is perfectly proportioned. The important information is printed large enough for this to catch the eye first. After the ad has captured the audience, one will see the small can in the lower right hand corner. This is the product to buy.
